One-time requirement

Install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable (x86). Without it the launcher silently won't start.

Install

  1. Extract the archive into a folder (use 7-Zip or WinRAR if Windows can't open a .rar).
  2. Right-click Kaentake.exe → Run as administrator. Always launch via Kaentake.exe, not MapleStory.exe.
  3. Create a character and play. It connects to the live server automatically.
In-game resolution: System Options → resolution dropdown (800×600 / 1280×720 / 1366×768 / 1920×1080). Applies live.
Having trouble launching? Make sure the VC++ x86 runtime above is installed.
